First I would like to thank all of you that gave me such wonderful suggestions about the tapa cloth. Working with our paper conservator and your suggestions we were able to successfully remove all fold lines. The tapa looks as good as new.
My question today deals with a tablecloth. We received an outside request to conserve a damask tablecloth that has several holes approximately 1 inch in diameter. They requested that it be rewoven. I have not heard of damask being rewoven, only plain, twills or dobby weaves. Do any of you know if that is possible? If so, do you know who I could refer them to?
Thank you for your expertise!
