Mold safety guidelines

Greetings!

I have been asked to develop guidelines for protecting staff  from mold
and other potential hazardous substances found on works of art coming
into the Museum.  We are considering using protective clothing and dust
masks routinely when examining a work of art for the first time, and are
debating where to draw the line--organic materials, artwork coming
from certain types of environments, etc, so that it doesn't become too
burdensome.  I would appreciate hearing from colleagues who have had
similar concerns or experiences.
