Call for Papers
AICCM Textile Symposium
BinnaBurra, Queensland, Australia
19-20 August 2002
The Australian Institute (AICCM) Textile Special Interest Group is planing its inaugural symposium, to be held over two days at BinnaBurra Lodge, Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia. The symposium aims to promote a broader awareness of the variety of work carried out by textile conservators and is aimed at the textile conservation community in Australasia. We are looking for papers which demonstrate the diversity of
conservation treatments carried out by textile conservators. All too often
textile conservators feel that their work is routine involving many standard
processes. However there is more than one way of treating most objects and
in many cases each conservator works very differently according to their
experiences and skills. We would like papers to cover treatments,
research, and related textile conservation topics.
Papers will be 20 to 30 minutes duration and could be formal
or informal. If you are interested in speaking at this conference then
please provide a 250 word abstract by 15 March 2002. All submissions
should include the title of the paper, the author's name, address, e-mail
address, telephone and fax numbers, and a one-paragraph biography.
Accepted papers will be published as pre-prints.
Submissions should be send to:
