Duties: 


Is responsible for the management of the Clothing and Textiles Collection
Identifies needs and implements improvements to artifact storage facilities
in consultation with the curator and the conservator
Assists in preparation of grants for special projects in the Collection
Acts as a liaison between the department and Museum and Collections
Responds to public inquires for information and conducts tours of facilities
and resources as required
Monitors environmental conditions in the Collection
Maintains database for the Collection
Participates in exhibit preparation and installation of the Collection
Assists with public programming and outreach related to the Collection
Provides technical support for apparel design courses
Assists with department public relations, outreach and special events
Performs other related duties 
  
Qualifications: 


Degree in Human Ecology, supplemented by specific cousework in curatorship,
conservation and apparel design; Masters' degree in Textiles and Clothing or
related discipline preferred
Minimum of 3 years of related experience
Knowledge of artifact storage, and an in-depth understanding of historical
cross-cultural clothing and textiles
Computer proficiency in a Windows environment using MS Office software;
knowledge of Multimimsy database an asset
Superior public relations, communication and management skills
