I am researching various approaches to unmounting
and "lifting" old mounted silk that is powdering. I am inclined to think that
lining for removal, similar to what is done with paintings and frescoes, would
be an option, but what would be the most suitable consolidant? Any thoughts or
anecdotes on the subject would be most appreciated!
