[padg] Re: Mold Follow-Up

Since mold damage is permanent and the treated items sometimes look as though they still have mold, we put in a tag that states the item (or pages) was treated, that the mold is no longer active, the date and the name of the person who did the treatment.

If there is no evidence of mold  (for example if it was easily wiped off the cover and didn't leave any stains) we don't include the tag.

Hello,

I really appreciated the mold discussion late last month.  I have a follow-up question regarding moldy items post-treatment.  Once an item has been treated for mold (or pests, for that matter) does your institution have a means for marking the item as having been treated?  And if so, do you physically mark the item, make a note in the record, or both?

Thanks!
