[padg] PARS restructuring proposal

Please find attached a proposal for restructuring the Preservation and 
Reformatting Section (PARS) of ALCTS. This proposal incorporates ideas 
that emerged during discussions among PARS members and recommendations 
from the Policy, Planning, and Research Committee.  Building on PP&R's 
work regarding the consolidation of interest groups, the PARS Executive 
Committee expanded the scope of restructuring to include committees and 
the name of the section itself.

The Executive Committee invites comments over the next week via this 
discussion list or, if you prefer, in email directly to me or another 
member of the committee. If you are attending the ALA Annual Conference, 
I hope you will participate in a discussion during the first thirty 
minutes of the Preservation Administration Discussion Group (PADG) 
meeting, Friday, June 27, 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Salon H-K, Marriott 
Anaheim.  Executive Committee members will welcome comments throughout 
the conference and will also ask for feedback in reports from committee 
chairs.

Thanks for your help fostering a strong organizational component for 
preservation within ALCTS and ALA as a whole.
