[padg] Safe Sound Archive tour

Unbelievable but true!  ALA Midwinter starts this Friday.  The tours of Safe Sound Archive are scheduled for Friday afternoon, with details as follows:

There are two bus trips scheduled from the Convention Center to SSA - at 12:30 and 3:45.  Depending on traffic, it can take from 25 - 45 minutes to get from Center City to Chestnut Hill (the far northwest corner of the city).  We expect the tours to take an hour or so, and the bus will then transport tourists back to the Convention Center.

FIRST TOUR:
12:30: Board the Global Limo 28-passenger bus on the west side of 12th Street.  This is in the "tunnel" between the two buildings of the Convention Center.
1:15: Arrive at Safe Sound Archive at 21 W. Highland Avenue for tour
2:30 Take bus back to Center City
3:15 Arrive at Convention Center - in time to get to CCAHA for their open house.

SECOND TOUR:
3:45: Board the Global Limo 28-passenger bus on the west side of 12th Street.  This is in the "tunnel" between the two buildings of the Convention  Center
4:30: Arrive at Safe Sound Archive at 21 W. Highland Avenue for tour
5:45: Take bus back to Center City
6:30: Arrive at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts for the PTLP reception in honor of Walter Henry.

ON-YOUR-OWN-TRANSPORTATION:
The R-8 train runs from Center City to Chestnut Hill.  Its last stop, Chestnut Hill West, is one block from SSA.  See this link for schedule information:
Chestnut Hill itself is a charming neighborhood of shops and restaurants (including the appropriately-named CAKE, newly-opened in a florist's greenhouse).  We'll have local maps and information available for anyone who wants to explore this corner of the city.

We look forward to seeing you all in a few days.

best,
Carla
