[PADG:353] RE: Survey question from Policy Planning and Research Committee

Title: Survey question from Policy Planning and Research Committee
Brian, do you have a list of the activities in which you're interested?  And do you want to hear only from libraries?

Subject: [PADG:351] Survey question from Policy Planning and Research Committee

One of the charges given to the PARS Policy Planning and Research Committee was to identify changes in preservation practices.  So, if you could please answer the following question regarding your institution the committee would be most appreciative.

Please send your replies to brian_baird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.  I will compile the data and our committee will issue a report.  All information will be kept confidential.

Please answer the question by March 1, 2005.

Please identify preservation practices (including conservation reformatting, environmental control, disaster planning, etc.) that have not been used at your institution since 1995.  Please also indicate the reason(s) that this practice is no longer used:

--Obsolete

--Harmful to people or materials

--No longer of concern

--Lack of expertise

--Lack of funds

--Lack of staff

--Other

Thanks!

Brian Baird
