SOLINET, Inc., the Southeastern Library Network, is pleased to announce
the following Preservation Workshops (Please excuse cross-posting):


***************ATTACK OF THE GIANT MOLD SPORE*************

Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond,
VA from 9am - 4pm.

Mold is a constant threat to collections, particularly in climates with
high heat humidity. This full day workshop focuses on identifying mold,
the types of damage it causes to collection materials, and techniques
for safe mold removal and cleaning. Dr. Michael Trinkley, Director of
the Chicora Foundation, is the instructor for this session.

Cost is $115 SOLINET Members ($105 early bird, $140 late registration),
and $155 Non-SOLINET, ($145 early bird, $180 late registration). Any
institution within Virginia qualifies for the member rate.


******INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT: BEATING THE CRITTER JITTERS*********

Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Columbus-Lowndes Public Library, Columbus,
MS from 9am - 4pm.

This full-day session explains and assesses available strategies for
preventing and combating pest problems. Participants will learn to
identify common pests, recognize the damage various pests cause to
library and archival materials, and develop strategies for implementing
an integrated pest management program of monitoring and control. The
instructor is Dr. Michael Trinkley, Director of the Chicora Foundation.

Cost is $115 SOLINET members ($105 early bird, $140 late registration),
$155 Non-members ($145 early bird, $180 late registration). Any
institution within Mississippi qualifies for the member rate.
