Position:         Amigos Preservation Services Field Officer
Department:       Member Support and Education, Imaging & Preservation Unit

Range for position      $35,000 ? 40,000
Work Schedule:          Regular Full-time ? travel 30-50%

Position Requirements:

      Education:  Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school
                  and/or certificate preservation or archival
                  administration desired.

      Experience: Three years of preservation education or related
                  professional experience. Professional library or archival
                  experience in an academic environment preferred
.
      Skills:           Demonstrated excellent planning, training and
                  presentation, consulting, oral and written communication
                  skills. Microsoft suite and Lotus Notes computing skills
                  desirable.

      Traits:           Energetic, goal focused, leadership traits; enjoy
                  interactions of team environments as wells as working as
                  an individual contributor; enjoy meeting clients' needs.
                  Strong analytical skills; ability to accumulate data and
                  summarize into meaningful management reports; work
                  accurately under pressure with a sense of urgency to meet
                  schedules and accomplish assignments; will organized and
                  able to prioritize.

      Equipment:  Able to operate office equipment including FAX, copiers,
                  PC, printers, telephones.

      Other:            Possess valid Texas State Drivers License and
                  reliable automobile which is covered by state required
                  minimum insurance.



Amigos provides an excellent benefit package for staff.  The staff member's
medical, dental, LongTterm Care and  1X annual salary is paid for by
Amigos.  Staff may purchase dependent coverage with pre-tax deductions..
Long Term Disability and Retirement are paid for by Amigos and staff are
eligible to participate after 1 year.  Cancer and Intensive care policies
are available as well as 125C options for dependent care and medical
reimbursement.
15 days of vacation, 12 sick days per year, 3 personal days and 12
holidays.
