security strips: competition

Dear colleagues:

  With the acquisition of Knogo, Inc. by the 3M Corporation some time ago,
the market for security strips ("Tattletapes"[TM]) lost a competitor.  

  However, Checkpoint is still producing and marketing a
magnetic-field-based security strip that is similar in application to their
Tattletape[TM].

  Because Checkpoints pricing is now very much more attractive than that
offered by 3M, I wanted to seek any experience or advice you might have if
your library has been using the Checkpoint strips.

  I would appreciate a response, if you can, to me at boomgaarden.1@xxxxxxx
as they relate to effectiveness in protecting collections, quality of the
adhesive, etc.
