Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The Corrosion, which has bad effects on natural resources in Turkey, has
an important role in the Grand Total National Income, approximately 4
and 5 percent. As a result of that, the Ninth International Corrosion
Symposium has an important role to share knowledge and experiences about
corrosion.=20
Gazi University is honored to host the IXth International Corrosion
Symposium and Exhibition which will be held in Ankara between 22 and 25
September 2004. The 2004 Meeting will provide a challenging forum for
technical specialists and scientists to present their work, exchange
their experiences and thus open up new fields in corrosion and concrete
protection research for the future. A scientific format of the highest
quality is created by the Ninth International Corrosion Symposium
Scientific and Technical Committee, including state of the art lectures,
oral and poster presentations, working parties and integrated workshops.
Academicians and professionals from all over the world are invited to
participate in the Symposium, organized by Corrosion Association and
Gazi University, for an international and collaborative understanding of
issues, to form a discursive platform that can facilitate projects for a
more desirable future.
The corrosion industry is playing a larger and increasingly important
role in the development of cathodic protection and corrosion prevention
strategies. Especially, because of the earthquakes and its damages,
concrete corrosion and the effects of the earthquakes damages are other
subjects in the symposium. We believe that this forum is relevant for
all - including chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and
metallurgical and materials engineers, chemists, industry and producers.
Gazi University Congress Center is located in Centrum within walking
distance to hotels and has the latest modern equipments that are
necessary for this symposium.=20
Corrosion Association and Gazi University therefore invites you to
participate in this exciting and informative event and are confident
that your presence will contribute towards its success.
We look forward to your participation in the "advances in corrosion and
concrete protection technology: future challenges" September 22-25, 2004
in Ankara, Turkey's capital city.
Prof.Dr. Timur
Symposium Chair
