How does fossil ivory fit into the ban? I have used some in the past that
was clearly Mammoth ivory from Alaska - the outside of the tusk was dark
blue from Vivianite, a phosphate mineral that occurs on buried ivory and
bone. Plus, this tusk was about 7" in diameter - solid. The interior was
creamy white - practically indistinguishable from modern Ivory.
