[frameconnews] Re: mounting silk

Damelio:

Conservators usually mount textiles (silk & other materials) for
framing by sewing the textile to a fabric backing (which has been
stretched over acid-free board) using fine stitching around the edge
of the textile. This, of course, is only the case if the textile is
robust enough to withstand exhibition. There are other more inovative
techniques involving things like magnets but they probably don't apply
to your silk scarves.
