Internship Book and Paper Conservation Canterbury Cathedral 1 Year fixed term contract Bursary UKP 16,000 per annum Canterbury Cathedral is pleased to offer a unique 12 month internship opportunity in the conservation and preservation of book, paper and parchment materials. The intern would develop and learn skills necessary to maintain, conserve and preserve the Cathedrals exceptional Archival and Library collection which dates back to the 8th century. This internship is funded by Canterbury Cathedral and the Canterbury Cathedral Trust and would be suitable to conservators who have graduated in the last 2 years specialising in the conservation of book and/ or paper materials, have limited work experience and would like to develop their practical conservation skills. The Intern will work on different conservation projects within the Cathedral's Collection and would also assists with conservation work from external clients. He/she will be supervised by the Studios Book and Paper Conservator and monitored on a regular basis.
