Preserving whiteboard marker drawing

Our colleagues at the Center for Disease Control's David J. Sencer
CDC Museum are trying to preserve an important whiteboard diagram
used to track Ebola.  The diagram is made from whiteboard markers on
the actual whiteboard.  Would anybody have guidance for the
preservation of this object?
