Clements L. Robertson, paintings conservator passed away on May 31, 2016 at 96 years of age. After apprenticing with James Roth at the Nelson Gallery of Art in Kansas City, Clem served as Associate Conservator for nine years. In 1963 Clem established the conservation department at the Saint Louis Art Museum where he remained until his retirement in 1987. Clem was a talented painter and photographer and continued to pursue these interests after moving to Colorado. His many professional contributions include serving as President of AIC from 1974 to 1976. Clem often noted the changes in the conservation profession as SLAM's conservation department grew. He would tell the story of when an AIC annual meeting was held in St. Louis and he had the entire group over to his house for cocktails. Zoe A.
