ArtScience Museum is a museum located within the integrated resort
of Marina Bay Sands in the Downtown Core of the Central Area in
Singapore.

We are seeking to hire a Collections Manager (Registrar) to manage
artifact collections and art handlers for exhibitions set-up and
teardown and monitors collection during displays.  The job scope
also includes coordinates and manages all logistics for shipping,
internationally and locally, including tenders.  Oversees loading
and unloading of collections, handling, packing, crating, and
installation of objects.  Maintains records, condition and
documentation of all objects/artefacts in transit at the Museum:
visual examination, condition reporting and minimum intervention (if
necessary).  Updates the Museums' facility reports.  Prepares
artefacts for exhibitions or storage including labeling, packing and
cleaning.  Coordinates with lending institutions loan requirements
including environmental, security, showcase alarm systems, lighting
and mounting methodology.  Maintains storage facilities, space
utilization and supervises storage reorganization.  Monitors
environmental conditions for exhibitions galleries and storage
facilities.  Coordinates application system for submission of
security passes in regards to lenders, couriers, registrars, art
handlers and shippers.  Leads collections emergency preparedness and
recovery plan.  Manages budgets for collection supplies, art
handlers and shipping of collection objects.  Trains an Assistant
Manager in basic knowledge of registration and collection management

Development:

    Follows-up on tender and develop the collections data management
    system (Museum database)

    Updates collections management policies

    Manages improvements to collections housing and storage areas

    Develops preventative conservation strategies.

Competencies: Able to initiate and maintain excellent external
relationships linking the Museum with the community it serves.
Strong team-work and team-leadership skills.  Excellent
problem-solving and analytical skills behavior.  Strong
organizational skills.  Meticulous and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience:

    At least four years working experience within a Museum
    environment in relation to collection management

    Experience of wider museum collections management practice i.e
    storage, conservation, packing, transportation/customs
    documentation etc

    A degree or post-graduate degree, preferably in collections
    management, registration, conservation, or museum studies

    Additional formal qualifications in management or a field
    relevant to the Museum's areas of endeavor an advantage

    Practical knowledge in conservation an asset
