AOC Archaeology is one of the leading heritage companies in the UK.
We have one of Britain's largest and most experienced team of in
house artefact, ecofact and conservation specialists and we are
currently recruiting for a technician to assist with delivery of our
post excavation and conservation programmes.

The technician will be based in our Edinburgh Office and will work
with the AOC Post excavation and Conservation teams and the
archaeological Project Managers across our network of UK Offices.
The post will also involve close liaison with our external clients,
and working on location at various properties across Scotland.  This
will be a two year fixed term post.

Are you passionate about our heritage?  Are you experienced in
handling objects, and in working with fragile items?  Are you a
confident computer user?  Have you worked with collections
databases?  Are you methodical and well organised?  Are you
energetic and willing to travel?  Do you have a positive and
enthusiastic approach and enjoy being an active team member?

The successful candidate will have a willingness to take on varied
duties in line with our post excavation and conservation programmes.
Duties will include finds packing and record management, collections
audits, liaison with in house and external conservators and artefact
specialists, display maintenance across collections exhibitions,
transport of objects between locations, assisting with environmental
monitoring and pest management programmes, assisting with archiving
and finds disposal and providing general support to the conservation
and post excavation teams.  You will be based in Edinburgh but you
will be required to travel to locations across Scotland and to our
other UK offices, and to stay away overnight frequently.

Applicants should have a track record of working with objects and
collections and an interest in conservation.  A full driving licence
is essential and a licence for large vehicles would be beneficial.
Previous experience of technical drawing and photography, along with
archiving skills would be advantageous.
