Subject: Call for papers--Triennial Meeting for Conservators of the Baltic States
Call for papers and posters "Changing contexts: from environment to ideas" The 11th Triennial Meeting for Conservators of the Baltic States Estonia, Tartu 24-27 May 2017 Every three years The Triennial Meeting for Conservators of the Baltic States gathers professionals from different countries and backgrounds to discuss on the manner of how to preserve our cultural heritage. The conference will take place in Estonian National Museum's new building, located at the centre of the historic Raadi Manor complex (10 ha), which will open its doors to public on 1 October 2016. We would like to welcome the broad spectrum of the community of preservation specialists, scientists and all interested parties to discuss about interaction of cultural heritage preservation and modern society, to meet new challenges in the field of preservation and conservation to maintain the pieces of our history and identity. The aim of this meeting is to point out the role of preservation of cultural heritage, also conservation ethics and skills in changing contexts as well to emphasize the conservators' role as formers and keepers of our national and common values. The forthcoming conference focusing on four main objectives: Organization and management of preservation and conservation Cultural heritage as instrument of social communication Local and global heritage--the conservator's role and opportunities in 21st century Aspects of active conservation. Case studies Please send an abstract of your presentation or poster, including the following: The abstract must be written in English, including a) Title Author(s) name(s) and contact info including a valid e-mail Biography of no more than 150 words An abstract text of no more than 1000 words, outlining the purpose, methodology, findings and conclusions.
