Survey on sustainable conditions for preserving heritage collections in arid climate

From: Maria Matta <mmatta<-at->
Date: Thursday, June 16, 2016
I am an MA Preventive Conservation student at Northumbria
University, UK. I am investigating the impact of the arid climate
on the standards environmental conditions for the storage and
display of a mixed media collection. This project will discuss the
recommended environmental conditions, as established by the
international standards in compliance with the local climate
conditions and appropriate building strategies.

The aim of this research will be to respond to the complex questions
of relaxed environmental conditions for the preservation of a mixed
media collection in accordance with the extreme levels of
temperature and RH of the local climate and the "new" standards that
would provide a safe environment with less energy to maintain will
be discussed.

The main aim of this survey is to investigate the best practices
used by museums and institutions located in warm and dry climate
conditions in order to achieve a sustainable system for the long
term preservation of their collections. Your knowledge and
experience will make an invaluable contribution to this research and
the outcomes will be shared with all participants at the end of this
year.

The survey would take less than 5 minutes to be completed. All
questions are optional and the data will be incorporated anonymously
into my research. All data will be stored on Google's server until
September 2016. Your name and email address will only be used to
request further details if needed.

Please respond to the survey before 20 July 2016.

Thank you very much for your time.
