Conservator (Books) The British Library. St Pancras, London. Full Time (36 hours per week) Permanent Salary: UKP26,000 - UKP29,966 per annum As a Book Conservator you will be working with one of the largest, richest and most diverse research collections in the world, you'll use your recent practical hands-on experience in the conservation of books to carry out conservation and preparation treatments on a wide range of paper based collection items. With a degree in conservation or equivalent experience and a high level of manual dexterity, you'll diagnose conservation problems, develop and evaluate options for solutions and liaise with conservation colleagues and curators to ensure the longevity, stability and accessibility of these prized assets. Operating with minimal supervision, you'll also demonstrate your ability to plan and manage your work to ensure that production deadlines are met and provide clear, detailed and accurate records of all treatments undertaken in accordance with professional conservation standards and frameworks.
