Internship in paper conservation National Archives of Ireland The National Archives, on behalf of the Valuation Office and in conjunction with the Heritage Council, is pleased to offer a 12 month internship in paper conservation. The Valuation Office OL 11 Map Conservation Project began in September 2013 and the collection contains approximately 11,000 Ordnance Survey six-inch survey maps, from mid-1830s to 1874. These printed maps have been overlaid with data by the Valuation Office in their work of valuing to create the original cadastral maps of Ireland. To date 3,194 maps have been conserved. The intern will gain experience under the supervision of the Head of Conservation, in a variety of techniques and using specialised conservation materials and equipment.
