LMA is the largest local government archive repository in the United
Kingdom.  Based in Clerkenwell and administered by the City of
London, its holdings run to around 100km of documents from 1067 to
the present.  The archive holds local government and other records
for the Greater London area and the City of London.  These
collections have been awarded designated status by the Arts Council.
LMA is an Accredited Archive Service.

LMA is recruiting for a book conservator for a grant funded project
fixed term for 6 months.  The post holder will be required to carry
out conservation treatments based on up-to-date techniques on a
selection of Diocese of London Consistory Court Books from before
1660.  These volumes can be described as early archival parchment
bindings.  The successful candidate will be repairing and
repackaging the selected volumes appropriately to enable public
access.  The post holder will liaise effectively with all members of
staff in support of the project work.

Applicants will have a recognised qualification in the fields of
paper, archive or book conservation or equivalent.  Experience of
working in an archive would be an advantage.  The post holder will
work to the Conservation Studio Manager.
