Letraset dry transfer media

I am looking for information on the stabilization and consolidation
of dry-transfer media, often referred to by the trade name
"Letraset".  I am working on a mixed media object from the 1940s
that includes paper labels carrying dry-media annotations--the
dry-media is friable and lifting.

I searched the archives of this list and came up with one other
similar request, dated January 2007, however, no responses.  I also
have been unable to trace the colleague who posted the question.

I would be grateful for any help with this problem.
