Assistant Conservator in Textiles or Conservation Technician in Textiles San Francisco Art Conservation de Rigueur et Anoxia Abatement Solutions Part-time position Approximately 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days) We are currently considering applications for an Assistant Conservator or Conservation Technician in Textiles at our multi-disciplinary conservation studios in San Francisco. Our studios work with textiles, objects, decorative arts, furniture, paintings, rare books, and specialize in CO2 anoxia, mold and pest remediation, IPM collections care, as well as emergency and disaster recovery. We are an every busy beehive of activity working with a diverse client base of institutional, municipal, private collections, insurance, auction houses, dealers and other individual projects, throughout the western region, across the nation and occasionally internationally. The breadth and scope of treatments, approaches and applications in the studios is also comprehensive. <URL:http://www.artconservationderigueur.com> We are searching for a candidate with experienced in textile conservation practices, but perhaps not exclusively, who has excellent hand sewing skills, experience with surface cleaning, and working with non-aqueous and aqueous gels for spot and stain removal, is familiar with both flat and three dimensional mount making and display techniques, interior support structures and lining, and overall stabilization.
