The V&A is the world's leading museum of art, design and
performance.  We enrich people's lives by promoting research,
knowledge and enjoyment of the designed world to the widest possible
audience.

We are seeking a highly experienced furniture conservator to lead
the team of 4 staff in the V&A's furniture conservation studios,
guiding their work in preparing objects for the Museum's exciting
and busy programme of new gallery developments, exhibitions, loans
and collections care.

You will have a recognised qualification in furniture conservation
and at least five years post-graduation experience.  You will have
experience in planning, prioritising, delivering to deadlines and
managing staff and other resources.  You will also have proven
skills to negotiate resource availability for projects with other
museum colleagues.  You will provide professional leadership and
clear direction for the team, developing the skills, materials and
techniques required for the future.  In addition, you will engage
with and contribute to the wider strategic objectives of the V&A.
You will also be required to undertake high level practical
conservation of furniture from the collections of the V&A.
