Subject: Workshop on stub binding
2-day Stub Binding workshop 12-13 March 2016 UKP150 including tea/coffee and all materials The stub binding was traditionally used to bind maps and for photograph albums, but it can also be used for binding single-sheet and archival material. On the first day you will fold and sew this clever book structure, and on the second day you will make and decorate the covers. The workshop will run from 9.30am - 4.30pm in the Bartholomew Rooms, Eynsham, just west of Oxford. It will be a hands-on workshop that will provide students with a step-by-step tutorial and will look at the advantages as well as the possible pitfalls of this structure. Some previous binding experience would be beneficial, but is not essential.
