Icon Book and Paper Group General Meeting and Clare Hampson Memorial Lecture Art Workers Guild 6 Queen Square London WC1N 3AT Monday 4 April 2016 5:30pm Notice is hereby given of the Icon Book and Paper Group Annual General Meeting to be held on Monday 4 April 2016 at 5:30pm at the Art Workers Guild, 6 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AT. All members are welcome. The AGM will be followed at 6:30pm by the Clare Hampson Memorial Lecture presented by Dr Salvador Munos Vinas and entitled Paper Conservation: Selective Blindness. The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception. Dr Munoz Vinas is a Professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and Head of the Paper Conservation section of the UPV Conservation Research Institute. Munoz Vinas has worked as a paper conservator in the Historical Library of the University of Valencia, as a visiting scholar in Harvard's Straus Center for Conservation, and as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at New York University. He has published a number of articles and books on practical and theoretical aspects of conservation, such as The Technical Analysis of Renaissance Miniature Paintings (co-authored with Eugene F. Farrell; Cambridge MA, 1995), Contemporary Theory of Conservation (Oxford, 2004), and La restauracion del papel (Madrid, 2010). His current research interests are in conservation theory and paper conservation techniques.
