Call for Abstracts: "Cross-Disciplinary Connections in Conservation Science and Technical Art History" Gordon Research Seminar Sunday River Resort July 30-31, 2016 The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage Research is designed specifically for graduate students, post-docs, and emerging professionals in the fields of conservation, conservation science, and technical art history. This meeting will explore the applicability of new techniques and technologies from outside disciplines to the study of cultural heritage. The content of the presentations will encourage communication among emerging professionals in the diverse fields that impact cultural heritage science and also engage the development of new methodologies for technical art history. Seminar topics: Invited keynote by Greg Smith (Indianapolis Museum of Art) Analytical methodologies for investigating historic artworks and materials Scientific communication in cultural heritage: collaborative case studies Important dates: April 30, 2016: Deadline for abstracts for oral presentations May 30, 2016: Final conference program available July 2, 2016: Deadline for applications/poster abstracts The meeting will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract. The Chairs will select speakers from abstracts submitted by April 30, 2016. Those applicants who are not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster. This GRS will be followed by a Gordon Research Conference (GRC) from July 31 - August 5, 2016 for researchers of all levels of experience.
