2016 Ringle Conservation Summer Internship

40 hours per week; 8 week assignment (June - September, 2016)

$15.63/hr

The University of Kansas is seeking applicants for its 2016 Summer
Conservation Internship.  The successful applicant will have the
opportunity to undertake and complete a conservation project and
gain insight into the workings of a dynamic preservation department.
Conservation decision-making and documentation for library and
archival collections will be stressed.  The main summer project will
focus on preparing condition reports, treating, and creating
housings for early to mid 20th-century scrapbooks kept by former
students at the University of Kansas.  Other small projects may be
added after agreement by the conservator and intern.  Focus will be
on special collections and archival materials.

This KU Libraries internship is made possible through the generosity
of Stata and David Ringle.

This summer internship is appropriate for current students and
recent graduates of conservation training programs and their
equivalents.
