Subject: Workshop on digitally printed materials
Workshop Preservation of Digitally Printed Materials in Libraries, Archives and Museums Rochester Institute of Technology Rochester, NY October 25-27, 2016. The Image Permanence Institute is hosting a three-day workshop on the Preservation of Digitally Printed Materials in Libraries, Archives and Museums at its facilities at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. Over the last seven years, IPI has gained significant experience studying the stability and preservation of these materials through its Mellon- and IMLS-funded Digital Print Preservation Portal (DP3) projects. The purpose of these workshops is to extend the value of those efforts by utilizing the findings to educate and train the preservation community. The workshop will be open to all institutional professionals responsible for the preservation of digitally-printed materials including conservators, catalogers and registrars, curators, archivists, librarians, exhibition preparators, etc. Tuition for the workshop is waived due to generous support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Participants are responsible for all travel, room, and board expenses. Since attendance is limited to 15 participants, we are asking that applications be submitted for consideration in advance. Applications and supporting documents must be received by March 31, 2016. Notification of decisions will be made by April 30, 2016. Applicants who weren't accepted for last year's workshop are encouraged to reapply.
