The Textile Conservator is responsible for the care, conservation and scientific research of textile objects in close collaboration with a second member of the textile unit. The successful candidate will contribute to the day to day running of the conservation laboratory. As part of the conservation team, additional duties include ordering of equipment, communication with the public about conservation activities and the presentation of conservation projects to colleagues and external audiences. The Textile Conservator will report to the Head of the Conservation Department. The Conservation Department is part of the MIA Collections Division, which also includes the Curatorial and Research, Conservation, Exhibitions, Collections Management, Publication, and Multimedia Departments.
