Battery

I would like to know if somebody already has experience with an
artwork or technical object that works with a battery, but where
that battery doesn't exist anymore and there isn't any possible
substitution.  I would be interest in doing my master thesis on the
regeneration of batteries in works of art, but first I need to have
an idea of the relevance and utility of this topic.
