Fixed-term (9 months) commencing September 2015

Placement subsistence: UKP14,917.50 per annum (pro rata) plus
training and benefits

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Royal Collection is one of the largest and most important art
collections in the world.  It comprises almost all aspects of the
fine and decorative arts, runs to more than a million objects and is
spread among some thirteen royal residences and former residences
across the UK.

The Picture Conservation Studio is responsible for the care,
treatment and presentation of over 7,000 paintings from the Royal
Collection.  We are currently looking for a Paintings Conservation
Intern to work with our Conservation team at Windsor.

About the opportunity: This internship offers an excellent
opportunity to develop your practical skills and to gain hands-on
experience of the work involved in the conservation and preservation
of paintings including: structural conservation, environmental
monitoring and loan preparation.

Working alongside a small team of experienced conservators, you will
gain experience of complex conservation treatments and have the
opportunity to undertake research related to a major treatment.

About you

    With a degree or post-graduate qualification in Easel Paintings
    Conservation (or equivalent) you will have an interest in the
    historical and contemporary context of the Royal Collection

    Able to use initiative and take responsibility, you will have a
    proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team

    You will possess excellent communication and organisational
    skills and take a methodical approach to your work

    A willingness to learn and develop during the internship will
    enable you to gain the most from this opportunity

Interviews will take place at Windsor in the week commencing 19
January 2015.
