Call for presenters

The Library Collections Conservation Discussion Group (LCCDG) of the
AIC Book and Paper Group is pleased to announce the 2015 session
topic:

"Let Me Help You Help Me: Outreach as Preventative Conservation"

LCCDG is seeking individuals interested in giving a
mini-presentation (5-10 minutes) on their institution's conservation
outreach experiences--good or bad.  Possible topics include, but are
not limited to:

    Use of social media such as Instagram, Vine, YouTube to produce
    tutorials for care and handling of materials

    Use of social media such as blogs, vlogs and Facebook to
    interact with the public on conservation matters

    Preservation Outreach to patrons of libraries and potential
    donors, including tie-ins to national events such as
    Preservation Week

    Training of non-conservation staff to identify collection issues
    during intake, circulation and disaster recovery

    Highlighting the conservation of an item as part of an
    exhibition, or even making the conservation lab a public
    exhibition space

    Using workshops and other public education tools to increase
    community awareness

Interested individuals should contact the LCCDG co-chairs as the
email addresses below with a short description detailing their
outreach experiences by the end of December, 2014.  Thank you for
