Contract Paper Conservator
Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery's Conservation Department received a
$100,000 grant to support a contract paper conservator for one year.
This position does not include benefits.

The candidate will survey and treat a selection of the original 20th
century art works reproduced for the covers of Time magazine.
He/she should have knowledge and interest in modern materials as the
pieces are composed of a variety of media such as charcoal, pastel,
watercolor, acrylic paint and collage elements.

We would like the project to begin in December 2014 or January 2015.
