The event will take place on November 8, 2014 at the Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. See below for the program and further information about the meeting. Wohlgemuth Architectural Conservator, Integrated Conservation Resources, Inc. 10:30 - 11 am: Break for refreshments and group photo 11 - 11:30 am: Identity in the Cemetery: Dutch-American Language Shift Dr. Kara VanDam Vice Provost, Learner and Faculty Experience, University of Maryland University College 11:30 am - 12 pm: Battling Neglect: Restoration of Prospect Cemetery Susannah Drake Principal, dlandstudio pllc, Landscape Architecture and Architecture 12 - 1 pm: Lunch break (pizza will be provided courtesy of the Evergreens Cemetery and The Evergreens Preservation Foundation) 1 - 1:30 pm: "A New and Useful Burial Crypt:" The American Community Mausoleum Mark Nonestied President, AGS 1:30 - 2 pm: Preserving a Historic Cemetery: Discovery, Questions and some Answers Helen Thurston Trustee, Institutional Advancement, The Evergreens Cemetery Preservation Foundation 2 to 3:30 pm: Cemetery walking tour led by John Rousmaniere (the tour costs $10 per person, payable at check-in by check or cash). Maps will be provided for those who prefer a self-guided visit. 4 pm Cemetery closes and cemetery gates locked RSVP: Spaces are limited and RSVPs are required. Suggested donation for attendance is $10 per person ($5 for AGS members, seniors and students) to help cover meeting costs and support the Chapter. Donations will be collected at the event. Refreshments: Coffee and tea will be provided throughout the morning, and refreshments will be provided during the break.
