Surprises, Revelations and Unexpected Outcomes in Conservation
National Maritime Museum, Royal Museums Greenwich
20-21 November 2014

Registration is now open.

Cost: UKP45 for ICON Members, UKP55 for Non-members and UKP35 for
students (including lunch).  The Cutty Sark tour is an additional
UKP13.50.

Registration closes 10 November 2014.  Late bookings or on-the-door
places will be accepted but will not include a conference programme.

The conference will take place over two days with a tour of the
Cutty Sark and the conservation laboratories of the National
Maritime Museum (limited places) on Thursday 20 November 2014 and
presentations and AGM to follow on Friday 21 November 2014.

Presentations of 20 minutes will explore, normally through case
studies, the theme of 'surprises' in metals conservation which will
include:

    Unexpected treatment outcomes
    Long held beliefs undermined by new evidence
    Misidentification of objects or metals
    Fakes and forgeries exposed through research and analysis
