Subject: Marianne Mason appointed Head, Micrographics Projects at Library of Congress
Ms. Marianne Mason has been selected for the position of Supervisory Librarian (Head, Micrographic Projects Section) in the Preservation Reformatting Division, of the Preservation Directorate at the Library of Congress. She reported for duty on October 6, 2014. Ms. Mason comes to the Library from the National Park Services (NPS), where she worked as a Technical Information Specialist, overseeing the organization, accession, evaluation, cataloging, preservation, transmission, and dissemination of historic architectural, engineering and other technical materials to include microfilm. She provided technical supervision and is a team leader to professionals, student interns, temporary employees, scholars, and volunteers charged with collection management responsibilities. Ms. Mason also served as a data manager where she managed the database of National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), created records management guidance and coordinated work with contract archeologists and tribal liaisons. Ms. Mason holds a Master's degree in Applied History from George Mason University and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Indiana University. She is also a Certified Archivist by the Academy of Certified Archivists. We are pleased that Ms. Mason is joining the Preservation Directorate in her new supervisory position with the Preservation Reformatting Division.
