MSc in Architectural Design for the Conservation of Built Heritage
Postgraduate course
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

This new design-oriented course in architectural conservation
provides a robust theoretical and practical education in
architectural conservation and the complexities of the built
heritage, in a local and international context.

It provides a methodological, critical and interdisciplinary
approach to architectural conservation, integrating the theoretical,
technical and creative aspects of the architectural conservation
project. The course is fully recognised by the Institute of
Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), and conforms to the ICOMOS
Guidelines for Education and Training in the Conservation of
Monuments, Ensembles and Sites. These criteria are used by
professional institutes for the assessment of evidence and
professional accreditation in conservation.
