Call for presenters
Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting
August 2015

Want to make an impact on archives and archivists? Have you had to
deal with paintings, or sculptures, or swords, or panoramas, or
architectural drawings in a library or archival setting? Any
interest in coming to Cleveland in August, 2015?

I am currently seeking presenters for a session on innovative
housing solutions for non-standard archival materials for the
Society of American Archivists 2015 Annual Meeting to be held in
Cleveland, OH, August 16-22, 2015

I will propose a 60-minute lightning session with 8-11 speakers
having 5 minutes to share successful housing solutions to
"problematic" archival materials. My hope is that these solutions
will be readily accessible to the archival community, using low-cost
or widely available supplies and tools.

At the 2014 SAA, there was only a single presentation that expressly
dealt with the preservation of physical items, and it drew 200
attendees with standing-room only. Clearly there is an audience for
this information at the meeting.

Please note that the deadline for submission is Wednesday, October
8, 2014.

If you are interested in presenting, or are hoping to attend SAA and
could be convinced to present, I would love to hear from you with a
brief note about the type of housing or solution that you have come
up with. If you have any questions or comments about this session
or attending SAA, please be in touch.
