Icon Scotland Group are delighted to announce that the 17th annual
Plenderleith Lecture will be given by Gael de Guichen in Edinburgh
on 27 November 2014.  The title is  "Creating Conservation:  Harold
Plenderleith's Life and Legacy".  Professor de Guichen is a
world-renowned expert in the field of cultural heritage protection.
In his professional career, he has acted as Deputy and Advisor to
the Director-

General of ICCROM and is a member of the Advisory Group of The Getty
Conservation Institute, the Committee of the World Monuments Fund,
and IIC.  Gael de Guichen developed his professional career at
ICCROM, which he joined in 1969, working initially under the
directorship of Harold Plenderleith.  He was Director of the
Collections Department, co-ordinating more than 500 projects in
member countries.  Professor de Guichen retired in 2006 but now
holds the position of Advisor to the Director General of ICCROM.
