Cleaning marble fountains

Can any stone or outdoor sculpture conservators please advise on
best practices and procedures for cleaning algae and other
biological matter from marble sculpture fountains?  The fountains
are operational and located in a natural pond.  Fishing waders or a
boat will be necessary!
