Call for volunteers--AIC Book and Paper Group, Education and Programs Committee

The Book and Paper Group Education and Programs Committee Chair is
responsible for supporting and facilitating activities of committee
members engaged in educational programming for our membership.  The
primary focus is to identify professional development programming
ideas of interest to the BPG membership that are outside the scope
of existing BPG Specialty Group sessions and discussion groups.
Ideas can include workshops, symposia, and special events.  The EPC
Chair gathers and sorts ideas, or delegates such tasks to committee
members as appropriate, and communicates them to the BPG Chair, the
AIC Board Director of Professional Education and the AIC staff
Institutional Advancement Director.

The term of service is a renewable three-year term.  The BPG
Education and Programs Committee Chair reports to and is appointed
by the BPG Chair.  Committee members include the discussion group
chairs, the program and assistant program chairs, and BPG member
volunteers.  Committee members meet annually at the AIC conference
and touch base by phone or virtual correspondence throughout the
year.

Specific duties include:

    Represents BPG professional development initiatives in
    coordination with the AIC Education and Training Committee (ETC)
    via the AIC Board Director of Professional Education and AIC
    staff Institutional Advancement Director.

    Supports education and programs of BPG that include but are not
    limited to events that take place during the AIC Annual
    Conference such as workshops, training sessions, educational
    conferences, and special events planned primarily to provide
    educational benefits to BPG members.

    an agenda of programming initiatives.  This will include 1)
    Current Programs in active development; 2) Future Programs in
    planning or for future development.

    Supports program Chair of BPG by providing advice and guidance,
    based on the expertise of the committee.

    May be requested by the BPG Chair to review and advise on
    special requests for program funding support or work with the
    BPG Executive Council to raise funds to support education and
    programs.

    Delivers a report at the BPG Business Meeting on the status of
    education and program initiatives and the activities of the
    committee.  Reports quarterly to the BPG Chair to contribute to
    the AIC Board and IAG reports.  May be asked by the BPG Chair to
    contribute content to bi-monthly AIC News columns or to
    occasional listserv updates to the BPG membership.

    Organizes meetings, with suitable notice to committee members,
    to facilitate communication among the committee members, to
    develop and report on projects, and to address current and
    future BPG education and programs related issues.

    Interfaces with the BPG Executive Council, AIC Office, and the
    AIC Board about issues and inquiries as needed

    Ensures that the minutes of each meeting are posted to the BPG
    website.
