Conference: Wood Science and Technology Maastricht, The Netherlands October 17-18, 2014 Organised by Kate Seymour and Siska Losse Auditorium BonnefantenMuseum Hosted by: SRAL This two day conference on wood, hosted by SRAL, is directed towards the latest developments and state of the art in Wood Science and Technology. Themes to be discussed will include the mechanical and chemical behaviour of wood with a focus on its use for painted panels. Lectures will include aspects such as the cell structure of wood, sourcing wood for panel construction, and dendrochronology. Sessions on the rheology of wood, modelling risks and change in dimensions induced by fluctuations in relative humidity will be held. Climate conditions for the best preservation of painted wooden artefacts will be addressed. The conference provide the opportune venue for researchers in the field of wood science to exchange ideas and information on this subject. Students will be most welcome. The Conference will take place in the auditorium of the BonnefantenMuseum, Maastricht which has a capacity of 100.
