Icon Internship in conservation of Japanese Pictorial art Hirayama Studio The British museum Educational stipend of UKP16000, for 12 months. This placement is dedicated to East Asian paintings conservation. It will provide initial training in traditional methods of conserving Japanese art on paper and silk, with the aim for the trainee to eventually specialise in Japanese painting conservation and scroll mounting, This traineeship is applicable to someone who has graduated from a paper conservation course, has appreciation of Japanese culture, speaks or is prepared to learn Japanese and is committed to study Japanese conservation methods and materials.
