Collection Care internship Judd Foundation Marfa, Texas The Judd Foundation <URL:http://www.juddfoundation.org> is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maintain and preserve the artist Donald Judd's (1928-1994) permanently installed living and working spaces, libraries, and archives in New York and Marfa, Texas. The Marfa office is looking for a collection care intern between August and December 2014. The intern will assist the conservator, the registrar fellow and the archivist. The main focus of the internship will be on Judd Foundation's uninstalled collection of works on paper: prints, drawings and notes. The tasks will include handling, digital photography, housing and possibly integration of older material into the database File Marker. The intern will also participate in the daily activities of the Foundation including maintenance and care of other parts of the collection and assist the permanent staff when required. The intern will work under supervision of the conservator. The candidate should preferably have background in collection care, conservation, art handling or work experience from collections or museums and also have an interest in housing works on paper. Housing and a stipend of $100 per week are provided. The candidate should be willing to live in a small rural southwest Texas town for the period of the internship.
