Call for expressions of interests Melbourne Special Events for Culture and Heritage September 12-14 2014 We are happy to announce the launch of Melbourne Special Events for Culture and Heritage, a series of events from practical, workshops, tours to panel discussions. These events are organised September 12-14, 2014, taking advantage of people being in Melbourne at the same time prior to the ICOM-CC 17th Triennial Conference 2014 Melbourne and is jointly organised by the Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation at the University of Melbourne and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM). These workshops expand on the conference theme of "Building strong culture through conservation" that celebrates the preservation of culture as a powerful and positive force in strengthening society, enhancing people's sense of identity, and making a difference to people's lives. We support broad participation from anyone in the culture and heritage industry, interested members from the local community and visitors to Melbourne attending the ICOM-CC Triennial Conference. The issue of the preservation of heritage skills is of international interest and these workshops provide a unique opportunity for very real engagement in this issue.
